2008 July > OTF Grant Awarded to The Lighthouse Program

The Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children was recently awarded a $216,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The three-year grant will be used to strengthen and expand current programming for bereaved children, teens and their families. Kevin Flynn, MPP for Oakville, joined OTF representatives Grant Gooding and Gilmar Militar to congratulate the organization. "The Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children provides an invaluable amount of support to grieving families throughout Halton," said MPP Flynn. "This Ontario Trillium Foundation grant is wonderful news as it will allow this organization to continue to grow and offer more opportunities to provide hope and encouragement to bereaved children and surviving caregivers." The grant has made possible the hiring of a Program Director. Jo de Lecq Marguerie, Co-founder of the Program, introduced Flavia Ceschin, Ph.D., who will oversee the future development of the organization’s programming.
