Nine-year-old Jade Flores’ interest in the environment turned her into a song-writer. The Grade 4 St. Andrew Elementary School student implores people to take care of the Earth in A Gift of Nature, originally a poem entry in the choir’s environmental poetry contest. The song premiered in Oakville at The Oakville Children’s Choir environmental concert “Songs of the Earth.’’ Oakville composer, Janet Stachow composed the music for A Gift of Nature.
