2008 July > Relay For Life Hundreds of Relay For Life participants, cancer survivors and volunteers from Oakville came together to raise funds that support the Canadian Cancer Society’s important work – and they did it all night long. Everybody has a cancer story, a connection to the disease. Relay For Life is an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate survivors, remember those who’ve been lost to this disease and fight back against cancer.
The event is more than just a fundraiser – it’s a unique and unforgettable experience. It is also the signature event for the Canadian Cancer Society. The 12-hour, non-competitive, overnight event was held in communities like Oakville across Canada throughout the month of June. Teams of 10 people — of all ages — walk around a track together and fight through the night against cancer.
