2008 July > YMCA AGM

On June 11, the YMCA of Oakville invited members, volunteers and staff to their Annual General Meeting at the Peter Gilgan Family Y at 410 Rebecca Street. The evening’s theme of “Tales from around the world – they are all our children…” was the first step of many to raise awareness of the YMCA of Oakville’s goal to be a leader in facilitating positive development opportunities for youth and families. YMCA of Oakville CEO, Bruce Ireland, discussed the Y’s strong leadership in Child Care services, Youth Leadership, and Day camping. He thanked the Board of Directors, staff and volunteers for their dedication and support and challenged the YMCA of Oakville to join the 70% of Canadian YMCAs who have an international partnership. Three presentations were made related to international development outreach work in Peru and Africa.
