Summer makes a grand and artful entrance through ‘Painted Passages’ at Oakville Place shopping centre. 'Painted Passages’ is a fun, imaginative and altogether ‘out-of-the-ordinary’ auction and fundraising event for the Oakville Arts Council and its members. Unadorned, Victorian–style screen doors, donated by Rona on Speers Road, were delivered weeks ago to nine local artists specializing in everything from drawing, painting and mixed media to fibres and fabric. Their talent and whimsy have transformed each door into a one-of-a-kind piece of art which were sold to the highest bidders through an online auction at www.oakvilleplace.com.
