Newcomer Settlement Strategy Event
The face of Halton is changing as newcomers to Canada choose it as their home. As a result, the Halton Multicultural Council recently held a Newcomer Settlement Strategy event at the St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre to help make Halton a welcoming community where newcomers can prosper.
Using a process called Open Space, participants engaged in morning discussions that focused on action strategies, enjoyed a host of community panel speakers over lunch and developed an action plan in the afternoon.
Newcomers, service providers, businesses and government were all in attendance to help make Halton more welcoming.
