Girl Guides Thinking Day Centenary
For Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada (GGC) Members across the country, Thinking Day is a special time to take pride in belonging to an organization which enables girls to be confident, resourceful, courageous and to make a difference in the world. It’s World Thinking Day 2010, a time to show our support for girls and young women around the world. One of the ways the 10th Oakville Rangers decided to celebrate 100 years of Girl Guides was to hold a Centenary Girl Guide Camp. One of the special activities to help girls connect with their community and the world around them is our 2010 national Service Project: Eradicate Hunger and Poverty. Each participant at the camp was asked to bring food donations for Kerr Street Ministries. Also each participant was asked to bring in some gently used clothing and foot wear that is being donated to Canadian Food for Children. The donations and the camp was extremely successful.
